Hour 22-24 Update

Book(s) read since last update: Love to Hate Me, Handmaid's Tale, The Last Ever After by Soman Chainani
Number of pages read since last update: 65pgs; 1h. 2m.
Total pages read during read-a-thon: 843pgs; 4hr. 9m.
Books finished: ACOMAF and Made You Up
Comments/reviews: Finally done! Was finished way later than planned. Had a family emergency and when that was not so bad anymore it was time for Game of Thrones. Anyway, listened to more of the Handmaid's Tale, finished Sarah Enni's story, and started Last Ever After. Minus the problem today, I think this was a pretty good readathon. Wish I had read 1000pgs though. I think if I included Handmaid's Tale it would be 1000pgs. Next readathon: Octobers Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon!

Mini Challenge

  1. How many books did you read? Pages? (If you didn’t keep track, tell me that too!) 2 books completed, 3 books not, 843pgs read, and 4 hours and 9 minutes of an audio book listened to.
  2. How many hours did you read? 24!
  3. What do you think worked well in this readathon? I kept swapping books so I didn't loose my mojo.
  4. What do you think could be done to improve the readathon for next time? For me: bring snacks. For the readathon: I'd like a place to share my books on the readathon site so I can see what everyone else read.
  5. Will you participate in a future 24in48 readathon? Most definitely!

Hour 19-21 Update

Number of pages read since last update: 134pgs; 36min.

Comments/reviews: Finished another book! Made You Up is done.  Its nice outside so I read the rest of it in the garden. Also read part of Sarah Enni's story in Because You Love to Hate Me. Now I have to decide whether to get another book to read or just listen to Handmaid's Tale the rest of the readathon.

Number of pages read since last update: 125pgs
Total pages read during read-a-thon: 493pgs; 2hrs. 25mins.
Books finished: 1
Comments/reviews: I haven't updated in a while since I was sleeping. I read half of Daughter of the Pirate King in the last 3 hours of the Readathon. Had a lot of fun despite bring tired and reading a book that was too big for reading during a readathon. Looking forward to the next one already.
Mini challenges:

End Survey
1. Which hour was most daunting for you? The first few were because I was really tired.
2. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a reader engaged for next year? Daughter of the Pirate King was good. Lot of action, some romance, and its a pretty short book. Also Dear America books. Also short and interesting.
3. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next season? Maybe have a couple reading challenges like choosing a book with a certain theme or word in title. Or a word search.
4. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? The mini challenges were good and I liked the Instagram challenges too.
5. How many books did you read? Finished 1 and read 3
6. What were the names of the books you read? Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas, Separated @ Birth by Anais Border and Samantha Futerman, So Far From Home by Barry Denenberg, and Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
7. Which book did you enjoy most? Daughter of the Pirate King
8. Which did you enjoy least? Heir of Fire because the action was too slow to start and I got really bored with it.
9. How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Extremely likely. I'll be sure to pick up only smaller books next time.

Readathon TBR!

It is finally Deweys 25 Hour Readathon time! Seems like its been ages and I can't wait to do it again.  As always, I have gotten my books together for the readathon and I am going to share them with you.

Every readathon I choose a main book to read that is longer so I feel accomplished when I read a lot of it. 😊  This time around, that book will be Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. This is the third book in the Throne of Glass series and from what I hear it introduces some pretty amazing characters.

I also like to read a Dear America book since they are small and I have tons of them. I picked So Far From Home which is about and Irish mill girl in 1847 Massachusetts. I'm sure I read this when I was young but I don't remember the story.

I also decided to include another short book since I have so many books in my TBR pile. I got Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller in my March OwlCrate so I'm going to try to read some of that on Saturday. I'm currently reading Caraval by Stephanie Garner which I got in my February OwlCrate. Maybe I can get up to this months crate book in one week. 😏

There's my TBR. I haven't decided on an audiobook yet so I'll either post an update with the title or surprise on Saturday. Come back here Friday to see how well I do during the readathon and also check out my Instagram @sammylouise40 for my bookish photos. TTFN ta ta for now.

More Reading Fun

Hey everyone! Recently I discovered another 24 hour readathon that sounds too fun to pass up on. Its called the 24 in 48 Readathon. The goal of this readathon is to read a total of 24 hours in a 48 hour period. The next readathon happens on January 21-22. I have chosen to read 12 hours one day and 12 the next. I have also gotten together a couple of books I plan to read those days. Here's my small TBR:

The currently planned books are House of Hades by Rick Riordan (which will be the main book I'll be reading) and Scarlet by Marissa Meyers. These could change depending on whether I finish Throne of Glass by the readathon (which I should since it seems like a can't put down book) or if I get one of the audiobooks I currently have a hold on at my library. I'll update this post if my TBR changes. Be sure to come back here on January 21st to check out my progress during the readathon. TTFN Ta ta for now.
